I studied graphic design for 4 years in the 1970’s and gained Associate Membership of the Society of Industrial Artists & Designers and of the Society of Typographical Designers. I went on to work in London for companies including IPC Magazines and Royle Print Ltd.

In the early 1990’s I started producing swing signs for pubs, along with commissioned paintings, and this continued when I moved to Falmouth in 1998. I set up my one-person ‘traditional’ sign making business in 2011, producing signs made of wood (not plastic!)
Alongside this I still paint as much as I can, usually 4 or 5 new works a year. I exhibit at the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society summer exhibitions and last year my ‘Swallow-tailed Bee-eaters’ was chosen to be one of the membership card images.

My work is usually of wildlife subjects using mixed media; watercolour, acrylic, gouache and pastel and I sometimes use an airbrush for its unique effects.

I enjoy photography and try to use my own photographs as much as possible for my paintings, with other elements incorporated. Greece and Norfolk, as well as my local surroundings, are a source of inspiration.

Some of the paintings shown have been sold, but prints are available of most and commissions are always welcome.
