About the Artist

Charlotte was born in the 1970s in Cornwall, to a truly Cornish family, with her roots in the County traceable back to the mid 1600’s. Always creative from a young age, she spent her childhood learning about nature, watching and exploring local freshwater rivers, woodland, moorland and coastal environments.

Family life intervened, but her love of drawing returned. Self development through Adult Education, and re-connecting with her life long ambition to make her passion for Art a career, she returned to Art in the 1990’s, with additional creative boosts from the St Ives School of Art & Newlyn Art School. Charlotte’s work was nominated and accepted to the first Cornwall Art Fair, St Ives in 2016, and again in 2017. The following year she exhibited in Launceston & Boscastle, and was accepted as a Member of the Camel Art Society. In 2019 she exhibited at the Wild Cornwall Exhibition, Truro.

Cornwall is her inspiration, it is Home. Charlotte’s love for the natural beauty of the county is depicted in her work. Created either in her studio in North Cornwall, or from plein air pastel sketches, Charlottes work captures and expresses the simple joys of the colours of Cornwall. Cornwall’s beauty is the lure for the county’s tourism industry, and this makes her aware of humans damage through over consumption to the environment. Creating art and respecting the environment leads to her ethos of creating original works, with prints limited to 5 or 10 only. The buyers connection with the piece is important to her, along with original art being affordable to all those who appreciate it. With growing interest and popularity, her joyful, beautiful work is selling nationally and internationally.

Bespoke (commission) orders are accepted.
