Created through a combination of meditative reflection and improvisation, his striking geometric formations show an excitement of colour and harmonic arrangement, which represent concepts found within quantum reality and ancient spiritual belief systems. Not only do his paintings catch the eye, but act as a medium for contemplation and insight into pathways within ancient wisdom. As a lifetime creative, Samuel is also a professional landscape photographer, award-winning author and multi-award-winning jazz musician.

I was born in Japan but instantly felt that Cornwall is my spiritual home. The landscape, the sky, the weather and the people all combine to make Cornwall a place I want to be. Back home in Japan I work with natural stone and grind it down into powered to use as a paint material. I see the amazing granite of Cornwall as a perfect material to use in my art.

Since childhood I have had a fascination with the sea. It has been the inspiration behind my artistic journey. As a self taught artist I have developed the skills best suited to attempt to capture this element. I work in oils , a medium I have found to both suit my personality and best represent the feeling and movement of the sea. Most of my paintings are inspired by walks along the shore when a momentary moment in time will spark the artistic vision.
